Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Forward Deployed Engineer Jobs, also referred to as forwarddeployedengineer.com (the "Service"), operated by Ontologize Inc., a California corporation with offices at 2108 N St Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816, USA ("Ontologize," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors who browse job listings, candidates who use search or subscribe to the FDE Jobs Brief, and Employers who create accounts or post listings. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated from, and directed to users in, the United States. We do not represent that the Service complies with the laws of any jurisdiction other than the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States.

1. Description of the Service

Forward Deployed Engineer Jobs is an online job board and market resource for Forward Deployed Engineer, Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Forward Deployed AI Engineer, Foundry, AIP, deployment engineering, applied AI, solutions engineering, and related customer-facing technical builder roles.

The Service may include:

  • A public directory of job listings.
  • Employer accounts for posting and managing listings.
  • Paid and free listing tiers, including Basic, Featured, Premium, and Enterprise tiers.
  • Featured or promoted placements.
  • Badges, labels, and role or employer attributes, including badges such as "Palantir alum" where submitted, represented, or verified through a process we make available.
  • AI-assisted features, including candidate search and listing drafting tools.
  • Editorial classification, tagging, summarization, and role taxonomy.
  • Blog posts, reports, salary information, market analysis, and related resources.
  • The FDE Jobs Brief and other email updates for subscribers.
  • Analytics for Ontologize and, depending on the Employer's listing tier, reporting to Employers about listing performance.
  • Links to external Employer career pages or applicant tracking systems where candidates may apply.

We are a listing platform only. We are not an employment agency, recruiter, staffing agency, labor contractor, employer, joint employer, agent of any Employer, or party to any employment relationship between Employers and candidates. We do not screen candidates, verify candidate qualifications, make hiring decisions, recommend candidates for employment, negotiate employment terms, or guarantee any application, interview, offer, hire, salary, visa sponsorship, security clearance, or employment outcome.

2. Candidate and Visitor Use

Candidates and visitors may browse job listings without creating an account.

At launch, candidate accounts are not available unless we expressly make them available through the Service. If we later offer candidate accounts, saved jobs, job alerts, profiles, resumes, applications, or similar candidate features, those features may be subject to additional terms and additional privacy disclosures. Unless and until we expressly offer such features, candidates should assume that applications are submitted only through external Employer or third-party application links.

Applications are submitted through external websites operated by Employers, applicant tracking systems, or other third parties. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we do not collect, transmit, store, or process job applications, CVs, resumes, cover letters, work samples, or other application materials submitted on those external sites. Candidates are responsible for reviewing the terms and privacy policies of any external site they visit through links on the Service.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, legitimacy, availability, currency, salary, remote status, clearance requirements, visa sponsorship, or suitability of any listing. Candidates engage with Employers and third-party application sites at their own risk.

3. Employer Accounts

Employers must create an account to post or manage listings unless Ontologize provides an alternative submission flow.

Employer account registration and authentication may be provided through a third-party identity provider, currently PropelAuth. Identity claims may be passed to Palantir Foundry through an OpenID Connect flow. Your use of the authentication flow may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of PropelAuth and other relevant providers.

By creating an Employer account or submitting a listing, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have legal authority to enter into these Terms.
  • You are authorized to act on behalf of the company, organization, or client you represent.
  • The information you provide is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You will promptly notify us of any suspected unauthorized account use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create legal or operational risk, or appear fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized.

4. Employer Listings

Employers are solely responsible for the content, accuracy, and legality of their listings.

By submitting, posting, approving, or purchasing a listing, you represent and warrant that:

  • The listing describes a genuine, currently open position.
  • You are authorized to advertise the position.
  • The listing is accurate, not misleading, and kept reasonably up to date.
  • The listing complies with all applicable laws, including equal employment opportunity, anti-discrimination, wage transparency, labor, immigration, export-control, sanctions, and employment advertising laws in the jurisdictions where the role is offered or advertised.
  • Any compensation, benefits, location, remote-work, travel, visa, security clearance, citizenship, work-authorization, or similar disclosures are complete and legally compliant.
  • The listing does not charge candidates fees or require candidates to purchase products, training, equipment, or services as a condition of consideration.
  • The listing is not a multi-level marketing scheme, pyramid arrangement, fraudulent opportunity, resume-harvesting scheme, or deceptive solicitation.
  • You have the right to submit all text, logos, images, trademarks, and other materials included in the listing.
  • If the listing contains personal data about third parties, such as a recruiter, hiring manager, or contact person, you have a lawful basis to disclose that data and you are responsible for providing any required notices.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without liability, to review, edit, reject, classify, tag, suspend, remove, or decline to publish any listing. We may do so if we believe a listing violates these Terms, is inaccurate, is not aligned with the focus of the Service, presents legal or reputational risk, or could degrade candidate trust.

5. Curated and Third-Party Listings

At launch, listings are expected to be submitted by invited or approved Employers. In the future, some listings may also be curated by Ontologize from publicly available sources, including Employer career pages, public applicant tracking system pages, public job posts, public company pages, or other public sources.

Curated listings, if offered, are provided for discovery and informational purposes only. They may be summarized, classified, tagged, reformatted, or linked to the original source. We do not represent that curated listings are complete, current, authorized by the Employer, or still accepting applications.

If you are an Employer and want to correct, update, claim, or remove a curated listing, contact us at privacy@ontologize.com. We may require reasonable verification that you are authorized to act on behalf of the Employer.

6. Role Classification, Tags, Badges, and Editorial Content

The Service may classify, tag, rank, summarize, or describe listings using manual review, automated systems, AI-assisted tools, or a combination of methods. These classifications may include labels such as "FDE," "FDE-adjacent," "Forward Deployed AI," "Foundry," "AIP," "deployment engineering," "solutions engineering," "implementation," or similar terms.

These labels are informational only. They do not guarantee that a role is actually a Forward Deployed Engineer role, that the Employer's description is accurate, that the role matches a candidate's expectations, or that the position remains open.

The Service may display badges, labels, or attributes on listings or employer profiles, including labels such as "Palantir alum," "YC," "Featured," or similar designations.

Badges and labels are for informational and discovery purposes only. They may be based on Employer-submitted information, public information, manual review, or other sources we determine appropriate. We may require verification before displaying a badge and may remove or modify badges at any time.

Badges do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, employment verification, investment relationship, or approval by any third party, including Palantir Technologies Inc., Y Combinator, or any other organization referenced by a badge.

Blog posts, reports, salary information, market data, employer profiles, candidate guides, and other editorial materials are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not legal, career, immigration, compensation, tax, recruiting, or employment advice.

7. Payments, Listing Tiers, and Refunds

Listing fees, posting periods, placement options, and analytics features are stated on the Service at the time of purchase and may change without notice.

The Service may offer multiple listing tiers, including Basic, Featured, Premium, and Enterprise tiers. Tiers may differ in price, duration, visibility, placement, distribution, inclusion in the FDE Jobs Brief, analytics access, editorial review, support level, and other benefits described at checkout or in an applicable order form.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Each paid listing is a one-time purchase for a defined posting period.
  • Listings do not renew automatically.
  • Continued visibility after the posting period requires a new purchase or renewal.
  • Featured or promoted placement does not guarantee applications, interviews, hires, or traffic.
  • Analytics are directional and may be affected by ad blockers, privacy settings, bot filtering, browser restrictions, cookie limitations, attribution windows, and technical errors.

Card processing is performed by Stripe. By submitting payment, you agree that payment processing is subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy in addition to these Terms. We do not store full card numbers on our infrastructure.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where we remove a paid listing for reasons not attributable to the Employer's breach of these Terms. We may, at our discretion, issue credits, extensions, or refunds. Refund requests should be sent to privacy@ontologize.com.

Taxes, where applicable, are the responsibility of the Employer unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout.

Chargebacks or payment reversals not preceded by a refund request may result in account suspension and removal of associated listings.

8. Free Launch Listings and Promotional Offers

We may offer free launch listings, discounted listings, credits, trials, or other promotional offers.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, free launch listings:

  • Are available only to invited or approved Employers.
  • Are live for 30 days.
  • Have no cash value.
  • May not be transferred, resold, or combined with other offers.
  • Do not guarantee featured placement, inclusion in the FDE Jobs Brief, applications, interviews, hires, traffic, or any other outcome.
  • May be reviewed, edited, rejected, removed, reclassified, or declined under the same standards as paid listings.
  • May be converted to a paid listing or renewed only through the process we make available.

Promotional offers are subject to any terms stated at the time of offer and may be modified, limited, or withdrawn at any time.

9. FDE Jobs Brief and Email Updates

Users may subscribe to the FDE Jobs Brief, launch updates, employer updates, candidate updates, or similar communications.

By subscribing, you authorize Ontologize to send the emails you requested. These emails may include job listings, featured or sponsored listings, employer highlights, report excerpts, market analysis, blog posts, product updates, and related content.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. We may use third-party email providers, including beehiiv, Resend, or other providers, to manage lists, send messages, process unsubscribes, and measure email performance.

We do not guarantee that any particular listing will be included in any email.

10. Analytics, Advertising, and Retargeting

We may use analytics, advertising, attribution, and retargeting technologies to operate, measure, market, and improve the Service.

These technologies may help us understand traffic sources, measure report downloads, track job-post submissions, evaluate listing performance, measure paid campaigns, and show ads to visitors who previously interacted with the Service.

Employer analytics, where provided, are directional and may include aggregate or event-level metrics related to the Employer's own listings, such as views, clicks, apply-link clicks, referral sources, approximate IP-derived locations, search appearances, featured placement performance, newsletter inclusion performance, and comparisons between featured and non-featured listing performance.

We do not provide Employers with the identity of candidates who browse, view, search, or click listings unless a candidate separately chooses to disclose information to that Employer or we later introduce a feature that clearly discloses such sharing.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of analytics. Analytics may be affected by ad blockers, cookie restrictions, privacy settings, browser behavior, bot filtering, attribution windows, and technical limitations.

11. AI-Assisted Features

The Service may offer AI-assisted features, including job listing drafting, reformatting, role classification, candidate conversational search, and related functionality.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated outputs are suggestions only.
  • Employers remain solely responsible for the final content, accuracy, and legality of any listing, including content produced or edited with AI assistance.
  • Candidates remain responsible for evaluating listings and Employers independently.
  • We provide no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, suitability, originality, or non-infringement of AI-generated outputs.
  • AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, bias, or unsuitable content.
  • You must review and edit AI-generated content before publication or use.
  • You must not submit special categories of personal data, confidential third-party information, authentication secrets, export-controlled information, classified information, controlled unclassified information, or information you are not authorized to disclose into AI-assisted features.

Prompts and outputs are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use automated means, including scrapers, crawlers, bots, or data extraction tools, to access, copy, harvest, monitor, or republish content from the Service except for general-purpose search engine crawlers that identify themselves with a published user-agent and respect our robots.txt directives, or other crawlers we authorize in writing.
  • Republish, resell, redistribute, or create a competing database from listings or any substantial portion of the Service.
  • Post fake, misleading, discriminatory, unlawful, or deceptive listings.
  • Impersonate any person or organization.
  • Misrepresent your authority to act on behalf of an Employer.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, probe, scan, or test the security or performance of the Service or related systems.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, backend systems, identity providers, payment processors, analytics systems, or infrastructure providers.
  • Submit malware, malicious code, or harmful content.
  • Submit special categories of personal data, authentication secrets, API keys, passwords, tokens, classified information, controlled unclassified information, export-controlled technical data, or third-party confidential information.
  • Use the Service in violation of U.S. export controls, sanctions, or trade restrictions.
  • Use the Service or its outputs to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or evaluate any machine-learning model or service that competes with the Service, except with our prior written consent.
  • Use the Service for unlawful employment discrimination, candidate profiling in violation of law, or automated employment decision-making.

We may rate-limit, block, suspend, terminate, or investigate activity that appears to violate these Terms.

13. Infrastructure and Service Providers

The Service may be operated using third-party infrastructure and service providers, including application hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, advertising, retargeting, security, data storage, AI-assisted processing, backend systems, CRM, sales, and employer outreach tools.

Current or future providers may include Vercel, PropelAuth, Stripe, Palantir Foundry, beehiiv, Resend, analytics providers, advertising providers, customer support tools, CRM tools, and sales or employer outreach tools. Specific provider categories and data uses are described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, text, graphics, taxonomy, classification logic, reports, editorial content, and other materials, excluding Employer-submitted content and third-party content, is owned by Ontologize or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Employers retain ownership of content they submit, including job listing text, logos, images, and other media. By submitting content, the Employer grants Ontologize a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, distribute, modify for formatting, classify, summarize, promote, and otherwise use the content in connection with the Service, related marketing, the FDE Jobs Brief, analytics, archival records, and operational purposes.

This license continues for the duration of the listing and for a reasonable period thereafter for archival, audit, legal, reporting, and operational purposes. Public listing content may also persist in search engines, caches, archives, and third-party systems outside our control.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, contact privacy@ontologize.com with:

  • A description of the copyrighted work or trademark claimed to be infringed.
  • The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content.
  • Your name, address, email address, and phone number.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers.

15. Third-Party Sites and Services

The Service contains links to external websites, including Employer career pages, applicant tracking systems, payment processors, authentication providers, email providers, analytics providers, advertising providers, and other third-party services.

We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, security, availability, or practices of third-party sites or services. Visiting or using a third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's terms and privacy policies.

16. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that personal data may be collected, used, and shared as described there.

Listings are public once posted and may be indexed, cached, copied, archived, or republished by search engines, AI systems, or third parties outside our control.

17. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the Service. No system can be guaranteed fully secure. You are responsible for using secure devices, maintaining account confidentiality, and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

18. Export Controls and Sanctions

You may not use the Service in violation of U.S. export controls, sanctions, trade restrictions, or similar laws. You represent that you are not located in, organized under the laws of, or ordinarily resident in a comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction and are not a restricted party.

You must not submit classified information, controlled unclassified information, export-controlled technical data, or other restricted information to the Service unless you have obtained all required authorizations and we have expressly agreed in writing to receive such information.

19. Palantir and Third-Party Trademark Disclaimer

forwarddeployedengineer.com is an independent job board operated by Ontologize Inc. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by Palantir Technologies Inc.

Palantir, Foundry, AIP, and any other third-party names, logos, product names, or trademarks referenced on the Service are the property of their respective owners. References to third-party companies, products, affiliations, alumni status, or technologies are for identification and informational purposes only and do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, approval, or affiliation.

A "Palantir alum" badge, if displayed, indicates only that the Employer or user represented that a relevant founder, hiring manager, employee, or affiliated person previously worked at Palantir, or that Ontologize identified such information from public or submitted sources. It does not imply that Palantir endorses the Employer, listing, candidate, role, or Service.

20. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, or uninterrupted operation.

We do not warrant that:

  • Listings are accurate, current, lawful, or available.
  • A listing will generate candidates, applications, interviews, offers, hires, or revenue.
  • A candidate will be qualified, available, authorized to work, or suitable for employment.
  • A role classification, tag, badge, summary, salary range, remote status, or AI output is accurate.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ontologize and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, candidates, applications, interviews, hires, or employment opportunities, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ontologize's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:

  • The total fees paid by the Employer to Ontologize for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
  • One thousand U.S. dollars.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

22. Indemnification

Employers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ontologize and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:

  • Listings or other content the Employer submits, approves, or provides.
  • The Employer's hiring, recruiting, employment, or candidate evaluation practices.
  • The Employer's violation of employment, labor, wage transparency, anti-discrimination, immigration, export-control, sanctions, privacy, intellectual property, or other applicable laws.
  • The Employer's breach of these Terms.
  • The Employer's violation of third-party rights.

23. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, remove listings, disable accounts, or refuse service at any time if we reasonably believe:

  • These Terms have been violated.
  • Payment has failed.
  • A listing is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or not aligned with the Service.
  • Continued access creates legal, security, operational, reputational, or abuse risk.
  • Required by law or third-party provider requirements.

Employers may request account closure by contacting us. Account closure does not entitle the Employer to a refund except as expressly provided in these Terms.

Upon termination, data retention, anonymization, deletion, and archival practices are governed by the Privacy Policy.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections concerning listings, payments, prohibited conduct, AI-assisted features, intellectual property, privacy, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law, and miscellaneous terms.

24. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Service or communicated through an in-product notice, email notice, or other reasonable method, depending on the nature of the change and the information available to us.

The "Last updated" date indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

25. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

The state and federal courts located in Sacramento County, California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and the parties consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

This section does not override mandatory consumer-protection rights that may apply by law.

26. Miscellaneous

  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, any checkout terms, order forms, or additional written terms that reference these Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ontologize regarding the Service.
  • Notices. Notices to Ontologize should be sent to privacy@ontologize.com or to Ontologize Inc., 1225 Crane St, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.
